PDSI is recruiting for an Engineering Manager for a direct hire opportunity for our client in Eaton, OH
The Engineering Manager provides strategy and direction to the overall engineering activities to maintain current business and successfully achieve new business objectives for the plant as well as to lead the engineering staff in a unified direction to meet customer requirements and business objectives. The plant manufactures high volume, tight tolerance components for the automotive industry and uses unique and proprietary processes to achieve competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and lead all engineering staff and activities.
Develop and drive plant-level engineering strategy and technical vision for all direct reports and other associates in the plant.
Act as liaison and provide plant support to corporate engineering department.
Collaborate with commercial, sales, and Manufactured Components corporate team to evaluate new product opportunities.
Lead all process and product launches and maintain proper levels of engineering support for existing processes.
Demonstrate a true 'shop floor presence'. Work closely with line operators and maintenance to understand the current state of the equipment.
Initiate, lead, and maintain technical solution driven continuous improvement projects and opportunities with evaluation of economics to address all business objectives.
Lead and manage facility capital expenditure projects and pipeline of opportunities with the support of corporate Engineering & Finance resources.
Provide leadership, mentoring, evaluation, and development of the engineering department.
Serve as a back-up for Plant Manager when required.
Requirements:
4 years’ experience with managing a team and project management and,
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 9 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering processes, maintenance, operations, design and project management
