Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Digital Design Engineer to work with a DoD company located in Northern Cincinnati.  This is a direct hire position with a targeted starting wage of up to $125K!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Design schematics containing components such as programmable logic, microcontrollers, analog, digital I/O, standard interfaces (e.g. LVDS, USB, Ethernet, RS-485), and DC/DC converters.
  • Develop embedded control algorithms, architecture, and code.
  • FPGA/CPLD design and VHDL coding, simulation, and synthesis for embedded applications.
  • Embedded C/C++ coding, compiling, debugging, and integration with digital hardware.
  • Integral involvement in all phases of hardware and firmware development, including digital control module design, architecture, coding, simulation, module testing, system testing, firmware verification/validation, and production support.
  • Test firmware for compliance to requirements, verification of functionality and performance using hardware and commercial equipment such as in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers, mixed-signal oscilloscopes, network and spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Experience developing analog and digital electronic systems.
  • Experience in FPGA/CPLD design and VHDL/Verilog coding for embedded applications.
  • Experience in embedded firmware development using C/C++ & Assembly language for microcontrollers.
  • Experience using FPGA development tools.
  • Experience using MATLAB for state machine development and code generation.
  • Proficiency at solving problems in a timely manner.
  • Experience in an RF/analog hardware environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with embedded control design and coding for the defense industry is highly desirable. 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be a US person.
  • BSEE or BSCE from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
  • 4-10 years of developing and supporting embedded control systems (can include co-op experience).
  • Must be a US person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
