Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer 

Responsibilities

  • Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods.
  • Develops and evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by participating in testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Assist with equipment and tool design.
  • Lead the manufacturing evaluation of new product concepts (DFA), creation of manufacturing plans, and estimations of production costs.
  • Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resource documentation such as DFA’s, PFDs, PFMEAs, and WI’s.
  • Lead prototype and start-of-production activities necessary to meet product quality and business plan objectives. 

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Working knowledge of PLC (Allen Bradley preferred), HMI’s, relays, contractors, servos, steppers, low voltage circuits, high voltage circuits, torque drivers, bar code systems, database storage, vision systems, etc.
  • Working experience with machine electrical cabinet layout and machine controls
  • Able to travel 20% as needed.
  • Team player.
  • Knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
