Job Description

PDSI is recruiting for an Estimator for a direct opportunity for our client in Dayton, OH

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for surveying the customer job site to obtain information on the system environment prior to bid finalization
  • Work with sales to determine system layout and build an accurate estimate of labor and materials
  • Efficiently performs at all stages of the low voltage estimating cycle including estimate organization, take-off, pricing, and reviews
  • Accurately determine the viability of the proposed project and determine whether this is a vendor supported solution
  • Work with CAD Operator to develop a comprehensive set of drawings for the project
  • Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain best possible pricing from subcontractors and vendors
  • Assist sales department in creating job file for installation/technical staff
  • Creates, analyzes, and maintains correct and accurate quantities and thorough take-offs from plans and specifications
  • Ability to identify cost trends that will assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts
  • Ability to maintain estimate databases, outlining typical materials and costs to save time on future estimates
  • Assist in Implementing bid software for estimating
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience with Mid-Market/Enterprise Level sales in Electronics Systems or similar fields
  • Candidate shall have a general understanding of how takeoff software operates
  • Highly Motivated, Organized and Success-Driven
  • Able to balance several tasks at once, while maintaining accuracy on the information for sustained daily growth
  • Self-disciplined and able to thrive in a fast paced professional environment
  • Excellent communication skills - oral, written, interpersonal and listening
  • Ability to obtain appropriate licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Prior experience in Low Voltage Systems Integrations; System installation experience is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to quickly identify and qualify opportunities
  • Experience with Security, Access Control, CCTV and HealthCare/Nurse Call Systems a plus
  • Experience working with electrical contractors, ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Computer experience (Microsoft programs preferred)

Pay: $60k - $70k Annually
