Job Description

We have immediate openings (direct hire!) for Electrical Technicians at PDSI (in-house position).  This is a first shift position that will have some travel (light) involved for installations.  Travel is about 20% for the year and is all pre-planned!

Wiring experience in but not limited to following items:

  • Basic electrical practices
  • NFPA 79 electrical standards
  • Rigid conduit (threading and assembling)
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with point to point wiring
  • Ability to build electrical panels
  • Person will work on and require knowledge of all types of equipment that include mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical
  • Familiar with Allen Bradley, Panel View HMI, VFD, Servo Controllers, and safety requirements to include ARC Flash (NFPA-70E ) and Lockout Tagout
  • Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment of the electrical trade. (hand drills, heat guns etc.).  Has own tools.
  • Tests, locates, and repairs electrical troubles in electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Installs conduits, wires, pull boxes, and switches required in making additions, extensions, or alterations in electrical systems.
  • Work closely with engineering, technicians, and sales teams in coordination of information to assure schedules and budgets are met. 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of electrical / electronic technical training preferred
  • Knowledge of and basic troubleshooting skills associated with: Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems.
  • Reading and math skills are required along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Must have understanding of electrical equipment and capability to debug equipment with minimal assistance
  • Basic working knowledge of PLC’s a plus
  • Possess strong self-motivation and exemplary work ethic.
  • Able to be a self-directed individual but also take direction from plant leadership.
