Job Description

Production Design Services, Inc. located in Dayton, Ohio supplies Automated Solutions in the design and build of custom equipment including assembly, welding, and test equipment, as well as integrated robot systems. We have built a solid reputation for providing cost effective solutions to complex manufacturing problems since 1955.  We are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to our team!

Project Manager

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of cross-functional team in the development and build of original equipment.  Ensures that goals and objectives of each project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and within budget goals. Superior and effective leadership, communication, and management skills are required for this position. You must conduct yourself professionally, with work habits and personal conduct that reflect moral values and show a commitment to excellence. 

 Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth understanding of automation and manufacturing operation
  • Knowledge of algebra, geometry, & trigonometry.
  • Well-developed understanding of materials, components and engineering technology.
  • Analytical ability to solve complex problems.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, vendors, and other project team members.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office to include Project and AutoCad 

Experience

  • Bachelors of Science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of project experience in automatic assembly or related factory automation areas such as welding, robotics, parts handling, testing, etc.
  • Must have experience managing automation programs that involve multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have a proven track record of providing positive leadership and coordination to a multi-disciplined project design.
  • Must have a practical working knowledge of the automation industry and customer processes.  

Responsibilities

  • Key customer contact for assigned projects. Responsible for customer satisfaction. Maintain regular contact (verbal and written) with key customer representative(s) ensuring all key project events and issues are documented in writing.
  • Oversee project schedule development and identify all critical path activities.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule
  • Managing project scope and budget
  • Facilitate project meetings
  • Weekly communication meeting with project team
  • Assist in resource planning
  • Daily interface with team member on progression of the project.
  • Installation coordination and management

Compensation is commensurate with experience to include yearly bonus and benefits such as holiday and vacation pay, medical and dental insurance, along with 401k and profit sharing.
